Who for President?

The 2012 Presidential election is right around the corner and Mitt Romney is at the top of the Republican Primary and I am going to say that it will by Romney going up against President Obama in the 2012 Election. This makes it very difficult for me to choose someone to vote for. Not because they both are good candidates but because they both seem to have a fair share of problems.

When Obama was elected in 2008 promised to make a "change".  I do believe that he has made some changes but he hasn't made enough good big changes to please me. His Obamacare has many flaws and requires a lot of money to make happen. Also during his presidency America has been in the deepest debt ever and will take a long time to fix. He promises to create jobs for Americans but he turns down the XL Pipeline that would have created many jobs. They may have only been for a short amount of time, but you have to start somewhere.

A lot of people don't have anything bad to say about Romney but that is because he is a panderer so he tells people what they want to hear and stays away from the negative questions. He promises the American people the same exact thing that every Presidential Candidate does: lower taxes and government spending, and increase jobs in America. Honestly i'm not buying it.

I'm not happy with Obama's first term and I am afraid of what will happen if Romney gets elected. So if Romney wins the Republican nomination, who should I vote for? I am not convinced that I should vote for either one.

I definitely see that predicament that you are in. I am feeling the exact same way. People only vote for Romney because they think he is the only one that can win. The problem with this theory is that people won’t get excited to vote for him if they don’t even like him. To sit back and watch states continue to vote for him is hard to do. However, the problem with the Republican candidates is that none of them are really exciting or even conservative. The most conservative candidate that the republicans have is Santorum. Gingrich and Romney are both very moderate. At least maybe these candidates would be willing to reduce the deficit spending of our government though. The only thing that Obama has done is spend more than any U.S. president. He put in Obamacare which increased government spending. Obama even put some stimulus packages into play that seemingly failed to jump start the economy costing over 800 billion. In fact, jobs continued to be lost even after the stimulus package. Can any of the people that are on the republican side help the national deficit? Romney has some business background that may help, but is that worth voting for him? I totally agree that no matter what president we have in office in 2013, we may be in for a long ride.

  2. I feel that no matter who the president is the U.S is going to have a great deal of problems. It won’t matter if Obama gets reelected or Romney gets elected none of the problems this country has will get fixed. I don’t think that there is any way in the next who knows how many years that the U.S will get out of debt or even somewhat close to out of debt and I doubt that the percentage of unemployment decreases. It’s not fair to elect a president on the idea that they’re going to make changes, because it is improbable that those changes will occur during the four to eight years that they are in office. I’m not sure about who to vote for either, more than likely neither Romney nor Obama will get my vote.

  4. It's sad when they did personal interviews with younger adults of the reasons why they voted for Obama, most of them did not have any specific reasons why. Most of them just simply stated "Well he wants change," and a quality one, "Because he will be the first black president." I am as well stuck on who to vote for because I don't exactly like either Obama or Romney and Romney looks like he will be the one running against Obama that stands a chance. And sadly we see people voting for candidates that they don't have any knowledge about.
